Kuretake (呉竹) is Umehito Nekozawa's personal maid in service to the Nekozawa family of the Tokarev dynasty who first appears in Ep 11 - Big Brother is a Prince! where she protects her master and explains the family history to the Host Club. She believes wholeheartedly that she is doing the right thing in shielding her master from the light and is ever at the ready with his black cloak and wig to shield him. She claims that the Nekozawa siblings are the family's "Romeo and Juliet" because they are kept apart by tragic circumstances; however, Haruhi Fujioka reminds her that the analogy doesn't really apply as they are siblings, not lovers. Kuretake also assists Umehito Nekozawa during Class 2-A's frightfest at Halloween in Ep 21 - Until the Day It Becomes a Pumpkin! when she and Kadomatsu lock Kaoru Hitachiin and Kazukiyo Soga in an empty classroom in order to frighten them.
Etymology
- The surname Kuretake means "give, do something for" (呉) (kure) and "bamboo" (竹) (take).
