Chizuru "Suzuran" Maihara (舞原 千鶴 Maihara Chizuru), aka The Lady of the Lily (鈴蘭の君 Suzuran-no-kimi), is the vice-president of the The White Lily League and Zuka Club. She is shown to have a number of fans, just like the other members of the Zuka Club's ruling council.
Appearance
Chizuru is a pale-skinned young woman with wavy waist-length light-brown hair that has a single hair strand swept to the left and dark-brown eyes. She is most often seen wearing the standard Saint Lobelia Girls' Academy uniform.
Personality
Outwardly, Chizuru is the most placid member of the ruling council, objecting to any of the club's plans, but she sometimes makes things worse. She believes that all men are a lower form of life and finds the Ouran Host Club's reaction to her immunity and their charms amusing.
Etymology
- The name Chizuru means "thousand" (千) (chi) and "crane, stork" (鶴) (tsuru/zuru).
- An ancient Japanese legend states that a person who can fold one thousand origami cranes by themselves within one year will be granted eternal good luck or one wish.
- Chizuru's surname Maihara means "dance" (舞) (mai) and "field, plain" (原) (hara).
Trivia
- Chizuru is taller than Hinako "Hinagiku" Tsuwabuki and Haruhi Fujioka, but she is shorter than Benio "Benibara" Amakusa.
