Chizuru "Suzuran" Maihara (舞原 千鶴) is the Vice-president of the Zuka Club who is known as "The Lady of the Lily" (鈴蘭の君, Suzuran-no-kimi). Like the other members of the Zuka Club's ruling council (Benio "Benibara" Amakusa and Hinako "Hinagiku" Tsuwabuki), she is shown to have a number of fans. Outwardly, Chizuru is the most placid member of the ruling council, but this counts for nothing; she never objects to any of the Club's plans, but rather assists and makes things worse. Chizuru believes that all men are a lower form of life and found the Host Club's reaction to her immunity and their charms rather amusing.
Chizuru is a pale-skinned young woman with long, wavy, light brown hair that has a single strand swept to the left and dark brown eyes. She is most often seen wearing the standard Lobelia Girls' Academy uniform.
- The name Chizuru means "one thousand" (千) (chi) and "crane" (鶴) (zuru).
- An ancient Japanese legend stated that a person who could fold one thousand origami cranes by himself within one year would be granted eternal good luck or one wish.
- Chizuru's surname Maihara means "dance" (舞) (mai) and "field, plain" (hara).
- Chizuru's height might be 5'6" as she is taller than Hinako "Hinagiku" Tsuwabuki and Haruhi Fujioka, but Chizuru is shorter than Benio "Benibara" Amakusa.
