Check out this video and hear what Hikaru's English voice actor, the talented Todd Haberkorn, had to say at a recent convention.  Of course, that doesn't mean that the original Japanese production staff or artists will be on board or all of the original English voice actors (ahem - J. Michael Tatum), but one can only hope.  Meanwhile, keep the pressure on, Ouranistas!

When I started co-administering with Mai a year ago, this wikia was generating about 5k views per day.  We are at nearly double that now.  That might not seem like a big change compared to those wikias with millions of daily visitors, but it's been steady growth and that's due to the fandom's loyalty.  So kudos to you, everybody!  Angelle aka Luxartisan (talk) 22:19, December 31, 2014 (UTC)

there is no S2 anime officially planned.  If there were, it would only be available in Japan, at first; ergo, the word would spread like wildfire.  What Netflix offers is the original 26 eps and calling it S1 and S2.  You can watch all the formats on this website here.  Cheers! One of the things I've been wanting to establish for some time is a category where fans can write articles that focus on topics related to Ouran, but which aren't necessarily canon.  I know that some of you have expressed an interest in writing about the 'ships that Ouran fans like to think about, talk about,  and create stories and artwork around.  So I've created Category: Meta-Ouran.  What does this mean?

It means that you can write an article like the first one I've posted about the use of Osamu Daizo's work appearing in Ep 20 - The Door the Twins Opened!  Note that the article is not just opinion (e.g.  I love this book and Kyoya is reading it because he's a way smart guy).  Nope.  Not that.  What I am looking for is intelligent analysis of things that, on the surface, may seem trivial but which, underneath, express more meaning than is actually given.  Relationships can, indeed, be a part of that.  Analysis of episodes with an eye towards something deeper that Hatori Bisco was trying to say in a covert way (e.g. Ouran's Monkeys) is a part of that.  Hidden meanings?  Double entendre?  You name it.  It's all Meta-Ouran. 

So think about it and put something together.  I'm leaving this category fairly wide open to give folks a chance to express their thoughts without it having to be factually based (like a chapter summary).  This is a category that allows the "thinker" in you to express yourself.  I know I have a few other ideas tucked away in my brain, but I wanted to open the category today to get you all thinking, too.

So you see...I am a Neek -- hybrid Nerd/Geek and quite happy with the appellation.  Maybe you are, too?  Or maybe you just have an idea you need to write about.  Don't worry if your writing isn't stellar.  I'm a good beta-reader.  And if your article stimulates discussion "In the Salon" Forum, have at it!  That's the idea, anyway.

Wiki's new Visual Editor seems to be working.  Maybe.  I pefer the old VE, but the new version is available to those of you who wish to use it.  I suspect that the old VE will eventually be phased out, so it seems wise to familiarize yourselves with the new VE  just to be savvy.  Be aware, too, that certain features that work fine in the old VE, don't necessarily work so well (or at all) with the new VE.  My biggest gripe (and it is one) is the fact that what the new VE calls Normal text seems smaller than what the old VE calls Normal text.  Very odd and I've contacted CC about it.  In Source, they say they're the same point size, but they look different.  Or I'm just going mad.  Could be!    Thanks.  Angelle aka Luxartisan (talk)

Hi, s'me, Angelle.  As a wiki, we're going to be reaching out to other wikis and request affiliations.  Queennicolee will be our ambassador-at-large and is collecting the names of those wikis of which you are most fond.  You can post them on your profile page header or (to save her some legwork) just send her the names of the 3 wikis that you like/visit most (outside of Ouran, naturally).  Hm.  I was about to write Happy Saturday, but then I realized that for those of you in Australia and East Asia, it's already Sunday, so...  Happy Weekend!    Angelle aka Luxartisan (talk)

To keep things simple and encourage chatter, I've condensed five forums down to three.  Check 'em out when you get a chance and make a statement, ask a question or open a topic for discussion.

So...let me ask the membership a question:  What do you think about removing comments as an article feature to encourage greater usage of the forums?   Just a thought and I'd like to hear yours!

Several new subcats are already in place: Anime Class 1A; Manga Class 1A; Anime Female Characters; Manga Female Characters; Anime Male Characters; Manga Male Characters; Anime Host Club Members; Manga Host Club Members.  Also Dorama Characters.  I've done some slotting already so the new hierarchy pages have info for you to see. 

That said, I'm sure I missed subcatting someone into all the appropriate subcats, so feel free to review the Characters and add the appropriate subcat, as needed.

How?  Go to the character's page and click on Edit to enter edit mode.  In the right hand rail, about halfway down, you'll find a section called Categories.  Open it if it's closed and see which subcats are listed there.  If the character belongs to one of the above 9 subcats listed above but if a subcat isn't listed, just type the name of the subcat (exactly as it appears above) in the empty box above the list and hit Enter.  The newly added subcat should appear at the bottom of the list.  Then hit Publish to make the change permanent.

Also...you may notice "red links" throughout the wiki.  These reflect one of two possibilities:

1.  A word of phrase that was linked to a now defunct page (all defunct pages have been deleted).  You can repair the bx link by going into edit mode, hover over the red link, click on "Edit Link" and when the pop-up box appears, type into the upper box the proper page name to which the word in the bottom box refers.  Once again, hit Publish to make permanent.  The red link should now be purple. 

2. Some red links, however, are indicative of a page yet to be created (these are typically manga -related pages, about which I've spoken before.  Just leave those alone unless you want to undertake creating the page to accompany the link.

More to come as I review the new hierarchy and make sure everything is where it's supposed to be.  I'll keep you posted.

...to TableWhiz for assisting this admin with a daunting task: reorganization of this wikia's category hierarchy.  A Table of Contents will soon be posted as a permanent page to guide visitors to articles and editors who will be slotting existing pages into their new subcats.  A brief tutorial about creating subcats will also be available for newer editors who want to learn how to create a subcat or for those of us (like me) who need a Study Guide. ;)

Look for it this week and when it's posted, happy editing!
