Anyone who visits this wiki is free to have personal beliefs, however; in canon, Haruhi is a bona-fide, self-admitted non-conforming FEMALE and there is nothing to cite that points to the club as being homosexual except Tamaki's joke.

Bisco Hatori deliberately used the manga and anime to highlight some of the old skool ideas of Japanese society at the time. They were meant to provoke thought and discussion about these things, but in a humorous fashion so as not to turn off the reader/viewer from contemplation.

If the series were written today, the script would likely be changed since attitudes over the last 20 years have changed to some degree. Also, there is no factual evidence that I can find that says the series was meant to be a BL series. Interviews with the Creator reveal that she wanted to create a story about friendship and family. Any BL overtones were in the minds of the audience without her consent.

I think the contest is a good idea. Entries can be posted here, on a wiki Sandbox page or on a personal Profile Page, just not as Official Pages. Good luck!

I have only ever gone by luxartisan in this fandom and will continue to do so.

I will only believe this when it is officially announced as scheduled to be on air. All other claims of a S2 have been bogus. In addition, if the anime was meant to be seen in 2021, there would be numerous sources saying it and showing previews. Anime studios always advertise and news of this would already be common knowledge, if it were true.

It is, otoh, a nice dream.

I respect your opinion but I disagree with your assessment. I am a cisgender heterosexual woman who, like Haruhi, believes gender doesn't matter. Using myself as a prime source, I would say that Haruhi could be the same. Maybe yes, maybe no. It's up to one's interp, but until Bisco Hatori says something specifically about Haruhi being otherwise, this wiki will abide by what is canon evidence -- a cisgender heterosexual.

Not sure what you mean by "Flash," but yes, the wiki is still alive and kicking and still in need of manga chapter summaries.

I'm curious about whether this is an American-based poll or otherwise. I say this bc the seiyuu for Kyoya in the original Japanese is not nearly as charming as Michael J. Tatum's performance where a certain restrained warmth is evident along with a great voice. I decided that Kyoya was my fave host based on Tatum's performance.

I'm not sure I understand what the non-canon ship is. Tamaki and Haruhi marry, which is what Bisco Hatori planned all along and is Pure Canon. I think those who shipped Haruhi with other characters might be disappointed, but then...I still don't get it bc by the time the two characters get together, they are different people than when the story began and well-suited for each other. That's my opinion coming from a diehard Kyoharu fan. I guess I just love the Ouran characters too much to argue with canon, especially when I can write/read fanfiction that supplies closure for my fave OTPs.

Unfortunately and despite many rumors churning the gossip mill, Bisco Hatori herself has spoken about this at a 2019 comicon. There, she stated that while she would love to do a second season, she's not in a position to demand it. It likely would not look nor sound the same as S1, either, so at this point, I'm not sure I'd like to see it done any other way (with either Japanese or English language voice actors being different). I know Fruits Basket has done a remake that has proven popular but, for me, Ouran became what it became bc of a convergence of impeccable talent that is unlikely to be regathered. But I never say never bc one never knows.

Kyoya has always been my fave host and though I never shipped a character with more than one other character before, somehow he earned 3: KyoHaru, KyoKao and KyoTama. I've even written a fanfic novel centering about KyoHaru that's posted on Archive of Our Own with a decent response and a community called Kyoya's Notebook on FFnet that features my 3 OTPs in stories written by various authors of good quality. So...check either or both out, if you're so inclined. Mucho gracias.
