I have a theory and it's super far-fetched but hear me out. I was thinking about how Funimation just remade fruits basket because ya know it has an amazing story and sadly its original animation wasn't very good the first time it was adapted to an anime. So they re-made fruits basket a shoujo anime from the early 2000s that people really really love. I was thinking: Ouran came out a couple years after the original fruits basket right? What if in the near future Funimation sees how much of a success the fruits basket remake was and decided to remake Ouran!? Why would they remake it instead of just giving it a second season? Because it's been soooo much time since the first season aired it'd make more sense to just remake season at a better quality then make season two with the new animation. That's just a thought. I think at this point if Ouran is ever to get a second season it would make sense to just remake the whole show and then add a second season in a more modern animation style, ya know? Anyway this is just a theory, so don't get your hopes up.
